What the App Does

Kakeibo is inspired by the Japanese household budgeting method known as "kakeibo," first introduced in 1904 by journalist Hani Motoko. The app is designed to support a more mindful way of managing money by helping you record your income, set a monthly savings goal, review your actual spending, and reflect on how to improve your habits over time.

To help you understand where your money goes, the app lets you organize expenses into four main categories: Needs, Wants, Culture, and Extras. It can also store notes, monthly reflections, budget entries, and personal preferences that support your budgeting workflow.

Information We Process

Kakeibo stores the information you enter in the app, such as income amounts, budget entries, savings goals, expense categories, notes, monthly reflections, and preferences. This information is used only to provide the app's budgeting features.

All Data Stays on Your Device

All app data is saved locally on your device. Kakeibo does not upload your financial information to our servers because we do not operate a backend service for storing user data.

No Server Infrastructure

Kakeibo works without a personal account and without a remote server. There is no cloud database, no user profile stored by us, and no server-side processing of your budget information.

No Tracking or Analytics

Kakeibo does not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, third-party trackers, or profiling tools. We do not monitor how you use the app, and we do not build marketing profiles.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal app data with third parties because that data is not collected by our systems.

Device Backups

If your device operating system includes backup features, locally stored app data may be included in those backups according to your device settings and the policies of your platform provider. Those backups are outside our direct control.

Your Choices

• You can control your data directly on your device inside the app.
• You can delete app data by clearing the app storage or uninstalling the app, subject to any device-level backup settings.

Children's Privacy

Kakeibo does not knowingly collect personal information from children because the app does not transmit personal data to our systems.
